Our librarian Gary Kidgell joined the Theosophical Society in 1994. He is a founder member of the Dundee Lodge and a previous Organising Secretary of the Scottish Regional Association. Gary has studied classical esoteric teachings for over thirty five years specialising in the teachings of Theosophy and its related offshoots.
As a means of establishing a facility suitable to the demands of the 21st century, the contents of our library have undergone an extensive overhaul whereby the books, journals and pamphlets have been assessed and recorded digitally by Gary and Susan Steven a Trustee of the Charity. Whilst establishing a library equipped to meet the demands of academics, students and the general public, this has enabled Gary to become fully acquainted with its vast range of content. The rigours of this process, allied to Gary’s knowledge of metaphysics, suitably equip him towards meeting the demands of visitors in terms of offering access to our library contents and, if required, conveying his insight and experience in a friendly and personable manner.
Gary is an international speaker, soul-centred astrologer, spiritual teacher and author. He lectures, and practises astrology, on an extensive basis both within the UK and Europe. Gary’s acclaimed book The Inner Journey: Pathways to the Higher Self has been distributed internationally. He has compiled two online audio-visual courses based upon the work of Dr Douglas Baker: Foundations in Esoteric Studiesand Esoteric Psychology — The Seven Rays. Gary is currently completing his second book on the relationship between the symbolism of Greek Hero Myths and the process of spiritual transformation.
